Welcome to The Eagle Scout Association of Greater St. Louis, Inc.

Also Serving as the Greater St. Louis Area Council's NESA Committee

Message From Your President

Welcome Fellow Eagle Scouts,

It is a privilege and honor to be your President in our 76th year of serving the Scouts of the Greater St. Louis Area Council.  The mission of the Eagle Scout Association follows the Scout Oath and Law.  We are Eagle Scouts that serve our Scouts through service projects, camp improvements, and trail to Eagle support.  Our members continue to give back to Scouting for what Scouting has bestowed upon them.  We are servant leaders with a goal of helping Scouts succeed in the Scout program.  We are a social organization and plan various activities to promote fellowship, team building and friendship.

Our $80,000 investment in the EAGLE pavilion at S-F Scout Reservation is designed to complement the Shawnee Lodge Adirondacks.  If you cannot make the dedication on September 9.  Check it out the next time you are at S-F!

The pavilion is just our latest legacy gift to Greater St. Louis Area Council facilities and programs.  Funded Camp Sakima improvements, provided council ring lighting, and other infrastructure improvements. Sverdrup Lodge air conditioning funding provided appreciated support for youth and adult training at Beaumont Scout Reservation.  The Eagle Shotgun Range at S-F was funded and built by the ESA and provides both skeet and trap shooting for an enhanced BSA shotgun program. The Beaumont Council Ring was funded and built by ESA and continues to serve Scouts and Scouters of all ages.  Major portions of the Beaumont climbing wall were funded by ESA in the past.  Making sure Cub Scouts discover and enjoy this program.

An excellent example of the ESA providing an opportunity for Scouts to move forward on the Eagle trail is the Annual Merit Badge Makeup Day, a 45-year commitment; allowing Scouts to complete partial merit badges from summer camp.  The ESA has a strong relationship with Shawnee Lodge. We actively seek Cheerful Service opportunities at Fall Reunions and Spring Conclaves. Our continued support of the OA helps provide a better experience for scouts.  Our annual Wood Badge coffee funding provides a grant for coffee for that program.

The Eagle Scout Association supports the entire Greater St. Louis Area Council through its support of the Council wide annual Eagle Scout Recognition Dinner. The dinner is a Council event that honors every Scout that earns the Eagle Scout rank from the previous calendar year. ESA provides volunteers for the event and purchases a table to show our strong support for the Council.  Our annual Eagle Scout project grants program provides seed money for Eagle scout projects.

We invite all Eagle Scouts to be a part of our organization and become involved to help continue to support GSLAC and the Scouting movement.  Although being an Eagle Scout is a requirement for ESA membership.  We welcome everyone in our efforts for fundraising and service projects. Please continue to support our major fundraising events, Trivia Night and Golf tournament and reach out to your Eagle friends and encourage them to join this servant leadership group of Eagle Scouts.  Please join me in building a great future for the Scouts of the Greater St. Louis Area Council.

"Once an Eagle, Always an Eagle!"

Yours in Scouting,

Gerard (Gerry) Biedenstein

“Think about it. Becoming an Eagle Scout is just about the only thing you can put on your resume at age fifty that you did at age fourteen - and it still impresses.”
